The chief risk
manager for the Navy recently spoke regarding safety issues that the
Navy has. They want to minimize losing people and one way of doing
this is through fall protection. The Navy is currently looking for
ways to protect against falls.

for our Employee Spotlight on Kris Gorter, manager of the ITAC Fall
Protection inspection program.
Kris Gorter

Kris Gorter has
been with ITAC since August of 2007. He began working as a
fall protection tech, moving his way up to supervision and is now in
charge of ITAC’s Fall Protection inspection program. Kris
is familiar with all of our supplier lines; having installed systems
from each. He has taught authorized worker classes, as well
as, being a certified Train the Trainer in OSHA Fall Protection
class. Kris has worked on ITAC projects in 18 states.
Prior to coming to
ITAC, Kris served in the United States Marine Corp reserves from
2000-2006. He was a combat engineer and served in Operation
Iraqi-Freedom from 2004-2005. Currently, he is working towards
an Associate’s degree from J. Sergeant Reynolds in Business
Administration. He has also completed some coursework in
AutoCAD.
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he
moved to Virginia in 2000. He has been married almost a year
and is expecting his first child in December. He also has a
dog, Bailey,
who is a Lemon Beagle.
Kris’s interests include hiking parts of the Appalachian Trail in
the cooler months and spending time in the Outer Banks during the
summer months. In his spare time he likes to draw, paint, and
attend rock concerts in the local Richmond area.
